EV Charger Grant for Landlords (2025–2026)
As part of the UK's commitment to promoting the use of electric vehicles (EVs), OZEV is offering a significant grant to support the installation of EV chargepoints at properties owned by landlords or businesses.
These grants aim to make electric vehicle charging more accessible and convenient, particularly in residential and commercial settings. If you’re a landlord, housing provider, or freeholder of a rental property, you can now claim 75% off the cost of installing EV chargepoints under the OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant for Landlords. |
This government-backed scheme helps support the shift towards cleaner transport across the rental sector. Funding is available until 31st March 2026 and includes both residential and some commercial properties.
What does the landlord grant offer?
- 75% discount on the cost to purchase and install an EV chargepoint;
- Maximum £350 per socket;
- Available for up to 200 residential and 100 commercial properties per year;
- Only available through OZEV-authorised installers (like Herts EV Specialists Ltd);
- Claimed by us, deducted from your invoice upfront.

- A residential landlord with property to let;
- A company or individual owning the freehold or common areas of a building;
- A Right to Manage (RTM) company or Residents’ Management Company (RMC);
- A registered social housing provider or PRP;
- A public sector organisation with residential lets;
- A charity managing residential properties;
- A commercial landlord (see separate rules below).
- Registered with Companies House or HMRC for VAT;
- Installing using an OZEV-approved installer and chargepoint model.
Property types covered:
- Single flats or houses;
- Apartment blocks or developments;
- Mixed-use buildings with rental units;
- Commercial premises with staff-only EV parking;
Not eligible if:
- You're installing EV chargers due to planning conditions or mandatory building regulations;
- You live in the property you’re applying for;
- The property is used solely as a holiday rental;
- You lack a valid company or VAT registration number.

- Accessible to your tenants;
- Either owned by you or one you have legal rights to;
- Located at or near the property being let.

- Cannot apply for the infrastructure grant (see below);
- Must ensure the charger is only used by staff or fleet vehicles;
- Cannot offer public use of the charger.

You must create a Landlord Account on the OZEV portal and have ready:

We handle all documentation and submit your claim via the OZEV portal. OZEV will ask you to review the details online before approving the payment.

- Details of your rental property and parking spaces

- The installation address
- Number of sockets to be installed
- Installer name and OZEV installer number
Step 4 – Installation
Once approved, we’ll carry out installation. All chargepoints must be installed within 90 days of application approval.

OZEV Audits:
Installations may be audited by OZEV or their representatives. You’ll be notified in advance if your property is selected.

This grant is open until 31st March 2026. The government reserves the right to change or close the scheme with only 4 weeks' notice. We recommend landlords apply early to guarantee funding.
