OZEV Electric Car Charger Grant for Households with On-Street Parking (2025–2026)
Designed for households with no driveway, this grant supports the installation of EV chargepoints where a cross-pavement charging solution is used (e.g. a cable channel). You can get 75% off, up to £350.

If you don’t have access to off-street parking like a driveway or garage, you could still qualify for up to £350 off the cost of installing an EV chargepoint. The OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant for Households with On-Street Parking is available until 31st March 2026 and supports installations that include a cross-pavement charging, such as a cable channel.

Who is eligible?
To qualify, you must:

- Own or rent a home in the UK (excluding the Channel Islands and Isle of Man);
- Be a resident at the property;
- Have no access to private off-street parking;
- Install a permanent cross-pavement solution (not a temporary cable cover or mat);
- Have lawful on-street parking directly outside or near your home;
- Obtain permission from your local highways authority for the pavement crossing;
- Own, lease or be assigned an eligible electric vehicle.

- Local Highways Authority Consent
This allows the installation of a cross-pavement charging solution on public footpaths. Each council has different rules and processes. You will need to provide proof of consent during the application process. - Planning Permission (if applicable)
Depending on your location and the layout of your property, planning permission may be required. You must declare that you will seek this approval where necessary. - Landlord/Managing Agent Consent
If you rent or share ownership, you’ll need written permission from the relevant party.
You are not eligible if:
- You already have a driveway, garage, or off-street space;
- You’ve claimed a previous OZEV grant for your home;
- You already installed a charger before applying;
- You’re planning to move house soon;
- You won’t install a permanent cross-pavement solution;
- You want to replace or relocate an existing charger.

A safe, permanent method for running a charging cable from your home to a vehicle parked on the street including:
- A recessed cable channel installed in the pavement;
- Cable gully systems approved by your local council;
